 CONCORDIA. Concordia Director of Naming Affairs, Lisa Summers, reluctantly announced Tuesday that the IT Help Desk has been renamed ‘IT Desk’. “I was having trouble sending out a memo to the entire campus,” Summers told The Shadow. “We were planning on announcing that the Lakeshore Room was going to be renamed the ‘Pretty Far From The Lakeshore Room’. I wanted to create a specially formatted email to let everyone know. But I was having trouble attaching the thing to my email. So I called up the IT Help Desk and they told me they’d get right on it. Instead they sent some creature to my office. He babbled on about the difference between Outlook 2000 and Outlook Express and when all was said and done the problem wasn’t solved. I threatened to rename the ‘IT Help Desk’ to ‘IT Desk’ and then later found out that that’s what everyone calls it anyways. This name change is long overdue.” Some people who wish to remain anonymous say that relatively soon the ‘IT’ and ‘Desk’ will also be dropped from the name. “Do you know what IT stands for?” asked the anonymous person. “I’ll tell you. It stands for Infested with Termites. Tell me, how long do you think an IT desk can really last? Not long at all. We’ll soon all be calling it the ‘Pile Formerly Known As The IT Desk’.”
